Gurit is actively involved with the development of the local communities where we operate, adding long term social value, such as economic benefits, environmental stewardship, social wellbeing and cultural & community support.

Protecting natives and biodiversity

Partnering with Restoring Rosedale, a community restoration project, Gurit Auckland (NZ) maintains a weekly trapline to control invasive predators and protect native birds, and gets involved with clearing waste ground ready to plant native saplings. This hands-on conservation effort provides a unique way for the team to support biodiversity and enjoy the outdoors, boosting employee wellness.

Encouraging the next generation of STEM careers

The Gurit Newport (UK) STEM team engaged local secondary students through careers fairs and on-site visits, showcasing careers in composites and engineering. The program offered students a firsthand look at industry roles and encouraged future STEM pathways through interactive sessions and networking.

Stream clean-up for the community

Gurit Magog (Canada) employees joined Action St-François in Castle Creek to remove waste from watercourses and direct it to recycling centers, helping sustain marine life, and highlighting the importance of environmental responsibility.

Oxfam Trailwalker

Three years in a row, teams from our Girona (Spain) site have taken part in the Oxfam Trailwalker 10km and 55km events, to raise funds and awareness for communities affected by climate change.
